Superwinch shows 2 Horsepower for the 10k?

http://www.superwinch.com/products/w...y/husky10.html

Looking for info, I found 2 superwinch links, note the Horsepower of the motor?
Am I missing something? (diff. model, Upgraded motor, 12v/24v,) or is it just a typo?

Hi Folks,

Can anyone shed some light on this? I'm looking around and I'm finding several vendors listing the Husky 10 as 2.1 HP motor.... What's up with that? Are these older winches? The ones on EE indicate 4.2 HP.

Specifically, this oddball site looks interesting and pretty cheap but 2.1HP is listed:
http://www.jtoutfitters.com/superwin...ch-p-4302.html

Of course, I'm looking at a manual and it shows 1.9 HP !?

Do I care? If the rating is 10K, then its 10K right?

Thanks for your help. This forum rocks!

I have a husky 10 and it has the 4.2HP motor. I am guessing that the older ones have the 2.1. Eitherway, it is a great winch.

But, I would call them just to be sure, if you are going to order one.

If I drill down to the Husky models both the 8 and 10k list 4.2hp.

The plot thickens! I'm finding evidence that DAYTON is the same as Superwinch? Can anyone confirm? This would help me track down additional suppliers. This pricing looks pretty good over at Grainger:

The site I previously mentioned hasn't updated their website pricing... she said somewhere around $1800 for the Husky 10 currently.
