Sunroof leak

Any suggestions on how to fix a leaking sunroof? I did a search and didn't come up with much. Its leaking at the front, from the 2 clips. Thanks

Usually have to remove them and reinstall with a new gasket (or some sealant....not silicone). Good luck.

I FINALLY got mine to stop leaking. by using some sticky weatherseal around the edge (on the outside) combo'ed with some vaseline around the actual gasket, then cranking down the knob. The vaseline sweats a tiny bit, but thats better than the seat always being wet...

I've had the same problem if the truck is parked on uneven ground and there's been lots of rain. I cleaned the seals and rubbed in a lite oil with my finger. It's been about a year and no issues yet. I also try very hard not to park in direct sunlight.

Yeah a really good cleaning to get all the debris and dirt/dust out of the seals. I never lubed mine up, but that makes good sense.

The above really works if the leak is from debris creating a tiny break in the seal allowing water to seep through. If that doesn't do it, you may need to remove your headliner(s) and seal up where the sunroof frame meets the roof.

SO glad this thread was posted... I too am suffering from "WETSEATITIS." From what I gather replacing the sunroof is a bit of a pain in the arse?

Part numbers:

Glass to frame seal RTC5942 - Available (SO for $122)
Frame to roof seal MWC9500 - NA? Newer part number perhaps?

maybe RDS? Call George. You know there is nothing really to it. If you bought some foam gasket (weather strip) from lowes it would be better. Its really sad but true.
