Stock Defender 90 lug wrench

I'm at a loss. My tool kit / jack under the passenger seat has what looks to me like a stock lug wrench except it doesn't fit the stock alloy wheel logs. Not even close. Too small. The wrench looks to be LR OEM, was tucked neatly and fits in the bag, etc.

Is there something I'm not getting here? Is there supposed to be an adapter? Or is it along the years someone lost it and replaced it with something from another vehicle.

I use a good depth socket and torque wrench for when I swap my OEM alloy wheels/tires for my wolf with Michelin skinny's but that torque wrench is massive and I wanted just a smaller more stock lug wrench for regular day to day (non off road use).

Thoughts?

Ditch it regardless (even if it was the correct size). Just get a 1/2" breaker bar and a 27mm or 1-1/16" deep socket for it. Thank me later .

the factory lug wrench is about as worthless as the heater core location in a Classic. breaker bar and a 27mm socket

Yeah, ditch it. And also just FYI, this dude used to own your truck if you ever have one of those "where did this come from?" questions.

Get a 28mm socket too. Not all the lug nuts are the same.

Yer nuts are rusting under the cap. Replace!

You know that makes sense actually. This is my first Defender and those alloy lugs did seem odd to me like they had caps on them. So much so that I was wondering if I had to take the caps off to get at the actual lug nuts! So you think rust underneath the caps is causing them to bulge out?

Yup they have swelled. Better off you find this out now. I never liked those capped lugs, replace them with solid RRC lugs. One of the best / easiest upgrades. LR should have offered them as OEM on all NAS 90s
