standard rear door tire carrier

I was wondering if anyone knows if a 285 width tire will fit on a standard rear door tire carrier? The rim has a 11mm offset if that makes a difference. Thank you for any info

With my 265/75/R16 BFG AT's I had to get a bit clever with how I tightened the lugs in order for the wiper to work. I'm not sure my rim offset though (I have these wheels -> http://www.automotix.net/images/prod.../aly72143u.jpg ). If you're using the same wheels as I, and have a rear wiper, I don't think it'll work. However If you didn't need the 2-3" of clearance for the wiper arm, it probably will.

hope that helps

I have helped put a 285 on a NAS rear door. No issue if you adjust the washers and lugs behind it.

I would be afraid of the weight on the door though

Not sure about your rim "offset" but a 285 will fit on the rear door. It's not as easy getting to the door handle and they're pretty heavy. As mentioned above you will need to move backing nuts further away from the door.
