stalling issue

I would like to make sure that I am going in the right direction on my 95. Upon dropping the clutch my truck seems to dye out and stall. This happens on a radom basis, regardless if the truck is hot or cold. No engine light comes on, and the truck starts right up again. This has become a more common issue in the past 4 weeks.

During normal driving the truck runs perfect, no smoke, no missing, just perfect.

Any ideas what, where I should start?

Thanks
Justin

Check this out...

I haven't tried it yet. Mine is doing the same thing. I haven't found a good Rover mech. here so I've been slacking on getting it done. Check other threads on "stalling when coming to a stop?"

Hope this helps. Let me know if it works.

Chris

Try to clean or replace the stepper motor. Reset the base idle too. If your base idle is set properly it should never stall unless there was a serious fuel or ignition problem.

When I recently got a full service and install of SS oil lines at a Land Rover Dealership, they reported that she was stalling at times.
After trying a number of different things including looking at the stepper motor they found after many other "investigations"
that she needed a new Mass air flow sensor. She's working fine now knock on wood.

That might be another possibility. Hope that helps

Not pretending to be an expert....but how would transmission affect stalling?

Would think that engine power would not be affected "by itself", ie idling, RPM, etc.

Would think transmission would have symptoms of getting power from engine to wheels, ie clutch slipping, crunching, etc.

Is there a "link" that would affect engine from transmission fault?
