I have a fabricator that can make the ST third brake light bar in stainless. I have a good one that we can use as a pattern, but I was wondering if anyone knows if the actual lamp is still available? Or, if there is a need for the bars to be reproduced?
Didn't chip build a third light pretty close to stock with a vette or lebaron light pack and the wolf/lelo metal light shield? Can't seem to find the thread for reference.
I guess that was going to be my next question, what would also work? I was thinking of drilling the lamp plate for the original light, then something else readily available, before powdercoating.
Let me know if you find the Chip thread! No sense in duplicating effort and flooding the market!
He just made the one iirc. He needed it for his personal build. I believe it was the lebaron after all. I think most people would like a SS 3rd. Those that would need one, due to irreparable rust, would certainly consider yours if you built them.
I got a 3rd brake light from a early 90s le baron on ebay and it is almost a perfect match. The width is off about 1/2-1 inches but besides that it looks the same. Bonus is the housing is metal and not plastic.
My thought on the whole thing was to use a rigid red flood as the brake light then 2 floods mounted on either side to it as the reverse lights... not stock of course.
The fabricator apologized for not starting on them yet. I asked him to build 3 to start. If anyone gets a chance, could you give me dimensions of the plate that mounts a genuine light?
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
