ST roll cage parts?

I lifted the attached picture from another thread - apologies to the original poster

The picture shows a number of brackets that tie the upper hoops into the chassis. These parts are not shown on my version of Microcat, and were not fitted to the salvage Gulf spec 90SV that I removed my ST roll cage parts from. Are these original fits, and if so does any one have info on a supplier and rough price? I'm guessing that the cost of OEM is going to be seriously 'ouch', so some detailed photos of the brackets complete with dimensions might be a better option

TIA

Mark

They are all Safety Devices parts fitted at the time of manufacture. Many are bent in strange ways. I dont know what to recommend as far as sourcing them except to say that if a truck burns, the main cage will be worthless but those parts should remain OK...

Thanks Jim,

I'm wondering why these parts are not fitted to Gulf spec SV90's. Having seen the photo and the chassis tie-ins it seems crazy that they are not fitted, unless the intention was to give structure to the soft-top without actually giving roll-over protection. By shear good fortune I spotted another gulf-spec SV90 today parked up. Stopped for a look and these supporting parts were not fitted, so it seems that I did manage to salvage all the available parts.

I guess my options are:

a. Live with the cage 'as is' and accept that it does not offer substantial roll over protection

b. Purchase impossible to find brackets

c. Locally manufacture brackets that tie in to the chassis if full roll over protection is an issue.

Hmmm. Have to think about that one...

What exactly is missing?

That looks like an early 1994 cage. The later 1995 and up cages are different.

Everything below the level of the tub is missing, with the exception of the brackets that tie the front windscreen hoop into the bulkhead outrigger. When I 'salvaged' my parts, the vehicle had been dead less than a couple of days so I doubt that someone had beat me to these brackets. Plus the live 90SV that I viewed today was missing these parts. Seems that these brackets were not ftted to Gulf spec 90SV's. I dunno - 'haps the powers that be figure that out here we don't roll out motors?!

I know Roverland in Tampa Fl has a burned up 90. Not sure if it has the parts or not but might be worth a call.

I think Gary (PCRover) on this board may have some of the parts you're looking for, he had a full cage and split it up, but was left with some of the bottom pieces.. worth a shot.

As an aside - why do burnt out 90's feature so heavily on this site? I have never seen a burnt out LR: All the dead rovers I have seen were crashed, cast, or simply binned because of age. My local scrappy has over 20 110's and not one was burnt. Just wondering....

Gary, thanks.

I just sent you a pm so our posts have crossed.... Yes I am interested. I am building the 90 as a replacement for my other half's vitara. As such a 'robust ' roll cage is definitely on the menu...

NAS spec D90s and D110s have issues with the oil cooler lines rupturing and causing fires. Not an issue on the ROW spec trucks as they are diesel or 3.5 carb or 2.5 petrol which do not have oil coolers.
