Squeaking breaks

So when will my breaks stop attracting attention when I stop?
I have had new rotors and pads on for a few weeks now and the squeaking is terrible. Ear piercing actually.

It depends a bit on what kind of brakes you got. Did you install yourself?

When I first got my truck a few months ago, it squeaked like a banshee. The front brakes were not installed properly... I think they were reversed. The back brakes were gone. Switched to all ceramic pads and now my truck is silent. I have also been told that that LR genuine pads that are hell-a expensive are softer and don't squeak. But I am happy with the ceramic aftermarket ones.

Craig, did you install your own pads? I would take the pads back out and add some grease to the back side and edges. If someone else did it take it back. Even the low end pads should stay quiet if installed properly.

I had squeaky ones, but when I upgraded to EBC Green it went away...

Do you know if he put anti squeak goop on the back of the pads? Did he replace the pins (or at least clean them up)?

I have this same issue. I recently replaced all my pads and rotors as well, I was told by a local shop that would fix the initial squealing. So that's done and they still squeal, not as much but every now and then especially when making frequent stops and only at low speeds (5-0mph). It sounds to me like only the passenger side rear pad is making the noise. I did the job myself, got the whole brake kit; new pads, stock rotors, pins, springs, Ferodo shoes from AB. Didn't think of using any grease on the backs of the pads could this possibly stop the squealing? I've also heard that new brakes will do this until they're broken in.

+1 Here - did the same thing, keeps squeaking from 0-5mph. I took all the pads out, put copper grease on the backs, still squeak.

Next step is buying OEM pads and hoping for the best....
