Square LED

Anyone figure out a square LEF for the rear lights yet? ECR mentioned them a while back and others had cobbled solutions together. Anyone have a success story/part numbers to share?

I've only ever been able to come up with 24 Volt look-alikes.

I would be interests as well. I recently did the round ones with LED's from Rovers North. Now the squares ones look awful and perform even worse.

I saw that Mud UK has a LED license plate on AtlCruiser's site that looks stock and isn't crazy money.

I have already looked into this one and Rubbolite only produces this lamp (model 313/312) in 24v

I have this page bookmarked for some time. It might work.

Scroll part way down the page and there are square LED 12v light units not dissimilar to the 94MY defenders.
The squares are 94mm or a little under 4insX4ins and come in Turn/Stop as well as Turn/Stop/Reverse units.

I misread - thought you guys were talking about the rectangular backup/fog light on the old RoW trucks not the square NAS ones.

RM autoleds on eBay has been mentioned on the forum a while back. They have a model that would work, but they are expensive to buy and expensive to ship.

Have square LEDs in my oem housings on my 94. Bought them from superbrightled.com years ago when I replaced all the marker, brake lights with led bulbs. Lot cheaper than new housings and bulbs.

part numbers by any chance?

Did you just use a clear led inside of the housing?

Search the forum for Superbrightleds. Several lists have been made of what bulbs are needed, including my own.

You shouldn't use white LED inside a colored housing. I tried that and it will only emit a fraction of the light. Something about wavelengths. Red housing needs red LED, orange housing, orange LEDs. It's all in the bulb lists.

if I remember when I get home I'll look for the part number. I left the original lenses in. The LEDs are just slightly smaller than the housing so they don't fill it to the edges. Also I used color appropriate LEDs.

Geoff (Silverlight) did a great write up on his LED upgrades, including the square LED tail lights that he got from http://ledautolamps.com/Publications...tml#/36/zoomed.
Search for the thread "ROW D90 LED Replacement" and you'll see our discussion as I was asking him the same questions. I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but I'm still tempted as I consider my LED upgrade options.
