Spun Bearing?

I think I've got a spun bearing - rattle, not a whine.

300tdi to an R380

I thought it might be the TO bearing (rough noise location) but it doesnt matter if the clutch is pushed in or not. The noise occurs when there's no torque on the drive train - when I lift off the accelerator. The noise stops if I brake or reapply the accelerator. It also seems road speed dependent, not engine speed. I need to be going around 50+ for it to happen.

Thanks for any help.

And yes, I've thought about having one foot on the brake and one on the accelerator (to paraphrase Sammy Hagar).

I'm thinking spring rattle or driveline vibration/driveshaft problem more that engine/transmission. Are you running lift springs? If so, how much lift?
