Split Windshield (Windscreen)

Hey guys,
I am something of a newbie here on the board. I am about to start doing some renovations on my D90 and I was wondering if anyone has ever seen or done a split windshield on a Defender. I love the way it looks on the Series trucks and, other than the wiper locations, everything else appears to be the same dimensions at first glance. Any thoughts?

Are you speaking from a "(I am talking purely) from an aesthetics standpoint" "bjf", because I don't think there is a "real" benefit. Never have seen that on a D90.

Ah- and welcome to the dark & rusty side!

The series windshields are shorter. The Defender roofs raise up for the taller windshield. You could use a series windshield and modify the length of a roof. This does cut down on visibility though.

Yeah, it is strictly an aesthetics thing. The only advantage I could think of would be replacing half the window if it breaks. I did that once when I had a 1954 Willy's Wagon with a split window. I don't have access to a series truck to take the measurements, but, from the picture, it looks like way too much work for very little return. Thanks for the help though...

And thanks for the welcome. I've had the 90 for about 3 years, I had a couple Discos prior to this. Dark and rusty side for sure.

The Shaun the Sheep land rover always looked good, but getting the wipers right seems hard.
