Question Speedometer Replacement?

What's the latest on speedometer replacement? No frills, just plug and play. My odometer is totally dead now and I can't tell the mileage anymore...

Wicks,

I think VDO makes an instrument that's a plug-n-chug.

Check the www.egauges.com site.

I installed a VDO over the weekend. Wicks, I highly recomend it. IT is so much brighter at night also and easier to read. Very easy to install too.

Randy - what speedo and sending unit did you use? I just put in 3 little visions and now the speedo looks like balls.

Also, do you have a pic? The egauges site doesnt show a pic of the speedos.

Thats speedometers, not swimsuits...

I really don't want to go through the install stuff required to switch to a generic VDO...hope I don't have to.

I tried cutting the flex curcuit and reseating it - same crap. I then cleaned all the solder contacts on the curcuit board (for shots) and that didn't change a thing either. What a drag this little glitch is.

I don't think a 94 works - 97 was a different setup electronically (I believe). maybe I could take it apart and just put the display and flex circuit into mine and it might work...

Any other ideas? Anyone got a speedo laying around?
