Let me preface this by I swear I searched for awhile and still couldn't get a clear answer Where the he'll is this thing. Is it on the back of the transfer case behind the brake assembly? Is it black sensor here with the two pins or is that the parking brake light sensors? Trying to plan out the wiring of this truck and have no idea how I'm going to wire up a speedo

Ok cool

So now say I was to put in all new VDO or autometer gauges. Can this be wired right to the speedometer or do I need a special sender unit?

I see the VDO can use a Hall effect (not what I have), a inductor sensor (assuming this is what it is) or a electronic control box (deff don't have that)

I'm hoping the LR sensor will work directly with the VDO GUAGE (or anyone's gauge)

Also anyone know where I can get the other half of that connector. Is there a generic type that is that will fit so I can wire this correctly.

Yes and it is the same connector as later model brake lights.

It will work with the VDO speedo directly.

If you also need a signal for a 14 CUX efi system then a resistor is needed and the wiring details are shown around here somewhere.

The connector is econoseal J mark 2. It is the same as the brake light for 1994 and later trucks and there is a Land Rover part number.

I have no idea what " 14 CUX efi system" is so hopefully not. This is for my series 109 hybrid build and it deff isn't efi! Lol

Thanks for the info on the connector. I'm sure I'll be using a number of them throughout the build.

Great news it will fit direct and work with a VDO gauge! That makes life easier and a bit less expensive.
