Speaker placement - '97 D-90 SW owners

Hey all you '97 SW owners, I'm wondering if I could get your help for some measurements? I need to know the proper placement of the front door speaker spacers. The spacers have a groove in them that fits in the groove of the door card, so I have that vertical position. What I need is the position of the speaker spacer on that horizontal line. Can someone get some measurements for me?

I happen to have my panel out right now. The hole is a 4 1/8" diameter hole on mine, with some slots cut for wires. Do you have the rubber gaskets to provide more room for the speaker?

So as best as I could measure:

distance from front of panel to centre hole is 5 9/16"
distance from the bottom to center is 5 1/16"

The spacers themselves just sit flush on the door card.
Hope that helps.

Len - I knew someone else would be in a 'similar' situation. I do have the rubber gaskets that hold the speakers away from the door panel. I think you definitely need them.

Thanks so much for the measurements! I was gonna just eyeball it, but measurements are always better. Thanks again, that's a huge help!

Reviving an old thread. Does anyone know how much depth behind the SW door panel until you hit window? I have some JBL marine speakers that appear to be too deep to mount in this location. They are 2.5 inches deep without the speaker grill. Dont really want to do the pod thing and maybe too much for a spacer so will look for shallower marine speakers (recommendations?) if that is what is needed. Thanks for any help.

I had to do this when I built my door cards. If you buy a 1.5" spacer for a audio place, you will have enough room to have a 2.75" depth. Worked perfect on my Focal's components.
