Source for New 300 TDI?

I did a search and looked back to 08 and didn't find exactly what I was looking for.

I know there are many of you guys who have been down this road and would like your help.

Where is the best place to source a 300 TDI kit? Looking for new and complete. Everything I would need to install it into a NAS 90.

Thanks,
James

4th post from Mike at ECR....makes it sound like they are nla, so you would have to source one from someone that has on laying around. Im not up on my tdi knowledge, so I may be totally wrong.

Stephen has one on ebay that is basically an entire 73k mile front clip for $8999. I was hopping to find new. If they are NLA as Kevin mentioned... new if you could find one my be stupid money like the one George quoted me for $17,500. I would apply that towards the price of a new Puma before I paid that much for an engine.

The days of getting a new kit for 10k may be long gone...

Why not buy a decent used and do a full rebuild? For under 10k you can buy, import, rebuild, and tune and have something as good if not better than new

PA Blanchard has new engines come through now and then. Really hit or miss though.
Also try Dunsfold.

There is a company in the UK that has the contract for assessing, stripping, rebuilding all of the MOD vehicles. They might have something you are looking for.

These numbers are crazy. There is a guy on ebay selling 200/300 TDI rebuilt w/o turbo for 1000gbp, This seems more in the range of sanity

I know! ebay.co.uk has several disco 300's cheap. I could buy a whole used 300tdi truck for what they are wanting for a new one.

Land Rover Import only deals in used...

To rebuild one as Berry suggested is an option but then you have a used turbo and injector pump. If you replace all wearable items I think you'd be close to what M&D is asking for a new 2.8.

I'm still leaning towards a PUMA.

Do a Puma...that way when my 300tdi craps out down the road I'll have you as a reference tool when I do the swap. One benefit is I understand the Puma is much quieter...

or a 2.8, Isuzu, etc. I would want to keep it simple and have a good source of spares.

We have tons of trucks here that use the HS2.5 and 2.8 made in Brazil and as I understand Maxion (International Engines) ar not making both of these engines any more. You could source some 2.8 if lucky around here but none 2.5s. Since we can get and source parts very easy for any of them we do overhaul and rebuild used engines so they end up as new ones. Plus, is more fun!!

A friend of mine just got, a couple of month ago, one of the last ones. He paid for it $3.5K +VAT (21% here).

Cheers,

International was making the 300Tdi's for Land Rover (and Mercedes and Ford and others) since the late nineties just like they made the 2.8TGV. For both production has been discontinued years ago so you can only find new engines for people who stored them since.

I know of two brand new 2.8TGV engines. (one is mine and I am not selling)

Maybe the other owner is willing to sell it against a good offer. If you are interested I can bring you in contact with him.
