Soft top help

94 D90 (NAS) that's been converted to a belt rail soft top. Got the top on, it fits well, but I can't figure out how the rear window section of the top is supposed to attach to the tailgate (or is it?). There's no rail section on the tailgate and the bottom of that section of the top doesn't have the same lip to tuck under like the rest of it.

The '95 has a tailgate bar that attaches to the bottom of the soft top rear window and tailgate clips that attach to the rear of the tub on both sides of the tub adjacent to the tail gate. I assume that since you converted to belt rail the set up should be the same for you.

Does the bar somehow fit into the clips? My truck has the clips that you mention, I wonder if I'm missing the bar. Could you possibly post a couple of pics? Thanks.

Yes, the bar fits into the clips (originally). I'll try to post pics tomorrow. I've got the original Bestop, so may not be able to fit the bar into the clips.

The bar sort of slides into place when you have the rear bar and the clips. Look at the instructions, you should be able to see how it all fits into place. I did the same conversion on my 94 D90 last summer and it took me a few minutes to figure it out too.

Woohaaa... First I read the instructions... My 90 did not come with the front door vertical bar. Was that "optional"? Anyone running them? I switched to the badger top and wonder if that bar is still needed (in which case, I'd have to locate some or fab them).

loic unless you have a badger with the gutter kit you will need the horizontal 5 tab bar. the 1997 had a vertical bar for the best tops to stiffen around the door tops

It's obvious now that I'm missing the tailgate bar.
