Snorkel Question (Pic attached)

The owner of this snorkel claims it's a side mount, but it looks to me like it would mount through the vent on the fender. Any idea of the brand?

Thanks!!!

it is a side mount, and as overlander has said, from the bend at the top it would be one that mounts to the passenger side (US) indicating diesel.

It seems it could be converted to a top of the fender mount for a series, if you do not want it, PM me the details if it is still for sale.

That was plan - to covert it to a top of the fender mount. Looks like it wouldn't too hard.

Since my series wings do not have top vents I figured it would be easy to cut to the snorkel pattern. The hose is probably too short to reach the D90 wing vent though, but I guess you could source something that would work.

Looks like the wing top version that just happens to be laying flat in that pic. I see the flexible section in that pic.

Tyler, I'm pretty sure it's the side vent designed for the 300TDi and TD5, check it out.

Jonathan, I'm sure J George is thrilled with you! LOL

J, if you want to see a top mount, one of the local guys here has one that you could look at. It looks just like the one in the picture but with a different shape plate for the vent - should be easy to make.

<Rant>

Just for the record, there shouldnt be any such thing as "ebay secrets." If you feel like a heel for bidding against your buddy, then just dont do it. Otherwise, the seller has the right to get as much as he can for his item, and a right to get you to pay as much as you are willing to. This idea that "I saw it first, its mine" really needs to be set aside.

Two faults here:

1. The original poster should have done his research properly and find the answer elsewhere - from some dealer sites. Obviously, he had a line on the Ebay item and didn't want to broadcast it. I understand that fully. Call it laziness and it bit him.

2. The other poster should not have publicized the Ebay link. He should have realized the original poster's intention to keep this secret. It serves no good purpose to the thread other than to alert others to it. If he wants to bid on it then he certainly can.

See what laziness does?

Smile Snorkel

Thanks Art for your input. I did do research and that is why I posted the question. Obviously another person in this post thought it might be a top mount snorkel too. A responses like yours is why people are affraid to ask questions. I am sorry, but I am a new D-90 owner and don't have your vast knowlege and roledex of parts vendors to research potential purchases from.

The forum rules state that we are not allowed to post Ebay auctions if they are not ours, so that is that is why I just posted the pic. I was commenting on the fact that the other Jonathan posted a link to an auction that wasn't his. I don't care if others see the auction.....

It's amazing how a simple question turns into others getting their kicks out of chastizing others. Oh, then they put a smiley afterwards like that makes it cool.

It's amazing how sensitive some folks are...

You have the same resources I have - GOOGLE! Roledex?!

You made no mention of Ebay for a reason - an obvious one. Heck, I would do the same if I had a line on something. Why would I alert others in a LR forum for a LR item I may want?! That's just stupid. Unless, of course, you like paying more for it rather than less.

I simply pointed out a mistake you made and the other poster.

Now go out there and do a little research on "chastize".

Please, this is nothing but friendly conversation.. if this was Discoweb, you would have had people tar'ed & feathered, your truck insulted way beyond rational reasoning, 20 requests for parts off your truck, 13 more people telling you that the snorkel looks like crap, 4 people tell you that your sexual preference is wrong, and 2 people posting some 6 page novels that has nothing to do with anything related to the topic.

Well, yes, this snorkel does look like crap. To each his own...

A simple Google images search for 300tdi side vent works wonders. It also leads you to this link:

Much cleaner and correct. Of course, you can change the cap for something real.
