smart phone and webasto



I am in the early stages of reseaching this. Has anybody ever done this?

I am parked close enough to my house that I have "wifi" same goes with work and other family members..

I did not watch the video as they are blocked at work, but I assume the truck needs a working SIM card that can accept incoming texts. Not sure how you do that without paying a monthly fee.

I have a long distance wireless remote that cost $10. Works fine. A long distance paging remote car starter would work and they cost around $100.

It is sim based. I talked to the guy who made the app. He is looking into a wifi option. So if my truck is parked within wifi range I could use it. I like the app feature because it has the diagnostics, temps, etc.. W will see what he comes up with.

Something does exist using a wifi or Bluetooth (non TC3) Webasto North America does not support it.

If you find something that interacts with the Webasto, that is reasonably priced, let us know. That would be great.
