Just an FYI.... I have been looking for a good brush on paint for my frame axles and fuel tanks for a while. My truck sees a lot of dirt roads at speed and flying rocks have always been an issue chipping away at what ever I try. It isn an ex-mod frame so it has some heavy paint in places that I wanted to reproduce....
So I was looking at Rovers north scratch and dent and they have expired SKS wurth stone guard on sale for 10$ so I gave it a shot...It is supposed to be sprayed on but I brushed it on in to test, behind the rear wheel on my spare tank. This stuff is great... Very similar to the military coated parts of my frame... super easy to brush on and seems tough as nails (literally cant chip it off).
I first wire weeled all the existing surface rust and old paint off then primed with rust-o-lium professional (whatever I'm not on the east coast and hope to never be
) then brushed on only one coat. this stuff looks just like the military paint. I'm going to put another coat on just for good measure but I htink I'm going to put it everywhere that seems to get stoned (no pun intended).
