sill repair/mods

Is there any reason not to weld a couple tabs on the bottom of the B-pillar where it meets the sill then bolt it through when re-assembling? I need to do patches an galvanize the sills and it seems like it would make taking things out in the future significantly easier an give a bit more alignment flexibility.
