Side Repeater

Has anyone upgraded to the late model side repeater? My current side repeaters have two sharp pointing male stems the are forcefully pushed into place. I would like to upgrade to the '03 or newer clear lens. Any idea how these mount? Also, do i have a cut a larger hole?
Thanks for your help.

Matt:

Noticed no one has replied. I have the newer style repeaters on my truck...BUT I didn't put them on, it came that way. I'd be happy to dig into it and get you some detailed pics later this week when I'm back at the truck if you think it will help you - just let me know.

For what it's worth I highly recommend them, it looks ten times better and more modern than the old block style repeaters.

These guys have tons. Int'l shipping available.

Paddock Spares and Accessories has a wide assortment of items. I linked the repeaters page below.

You should be able to find a clear lens to replace yours with out modification. The newer style will need some body panel modification.

Thanks for your help.

They can be made to fit easy enough.

You have to enlarge the hole in the wing (fender) to the correct size and shape - find someone with a Discovery II or Freelander 1 and (with their permission ) pop-out their side repeaters and take a rubbing to make a cutting template.

The connectors aren't the same as the old type, the newer side repeaters use 2-way AMP/Tyco Sealed MQS Connectors.

Have a look at this thread on LR4x4 -

http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?sh...dpost&p=605984

As I posted in the LR4x4 thread, I can supply suitable MQS connectors but, since posting that on LR4x4, I've had to increase my price to 3.95 each (+ Postage)

Paul.

Jason, Thanks for the offer! Assuming Paul's link is correct, it looks like those lights just snap into place. If thats correct, don't spend the time taking pictures. I really appriciate the offer.
I just need to open up the holes a little, I'm in. Their is no doubt they look better.
