Shipping parts from EU

Looked for a thread on this, didn't see one
For those who are shipping to us for uk.
So you pay for shipping, vat AND customs in us?
So I assume it basically is the same cost as us companies??
Would rather buy local of course but don't have some of the parts in stock...
Thx

No VAT on exports, sometimes, if you're lucky, no Excise on import. State Sales tax is not likely either unless the vendor has a physical presence in your state.

You don't pay VAT, which is like 17%, nor sales tax. Of course u want to bundle as much as possible in your shipment but I have bought several times from UK with surprisingly quick shipping. Parts can be almost half of US prices with the euro depressed right now. You usually need to fill up your shopping cart and then get a firm shipping quote via email before payment.
