Shipping a NAS D110 across the country

As many of you have seen my 110 burned up last week. I am hopefully close to shipping it off for restoration and would like to get any recommendations for shipping with a trustworthy outfit. I asked for quotes online through a website and quotes have poured in but it's hard to know who I can trust. Most of the calls in are telling me not to trust anyone else especially if they are from Florida and ask for an upfront deposit. Any help will be appreciated. Please use PM if that is required by board rules.
Thanks
Greg

I've used both DAS and Alpine Auto without any issues, but not for a 110. Some places may not ship a non-runner or the requirements will be different. The height of the 110 may be an issue as well...

The higher roof rack is off and brings the height to about 83 inches. It fits in my standard 84 inch garage. Non runner will mean it has to be winched on.

Some have had good luck with uship.com too. Maybe it will be on Shipping Wars.

I used DMT out of Maine, but I don't know if they head to chicago. To save money, I would pull the roof rack to get the height down.

I had a good experience with DAS. They offer GPS tracking so you can follow it along the way.

This usually precludes shipping on an typical 18 wheeler car transporter, because they often rearrange the cars as they travel. I'm sure most companies can accomodate it for some extra coin...

No necessarily, because a 110 is so high, it can only ride on the spot above the cab or you can't get anything else on top of it (or under it).

The other issue you have is getting it on and off the truck. Mike at DMT did a great job with mine, but honestly, if you are looking for the best way, I would find a hot shotter you trust with an F550 and a 3/4 car single trailer.

I have used H & M Global before to ship a 110, Matt 407-506-1151. Good rates and did what they said they would do.

shipping

i have shiipped several rovers from 88's, 109 and a 110 (most recently)

the 110 took a while to get picked up... and the reason being is that it only fits on the top tier last car loaded...

i have used the following companies

http://budgetautoshipping.com/

http://doortodoortransport.net/

http://www.easycarshipping.com/

i have all used all three companies... booking is free.. once they pick up your vehicle they charge you a deposite and then once deliever ... balance is due... good luck!
