Shims needed between XM tabs?

So I now I have a new rear cross member, and I noticed that there aren't shims between the steel tabs and the body on the sides. IIRC my original had what looked like plastic shims, which my guess would serve to prevent galvanic cor from the two non-like metals. Do I need to make these guys add some?

Thanks again

I like the innertube idea. I def have plenty of old bike innertubes lying around. It would have been nice of them to just put the original plastic shims back on, and of course I'm sure they threw them away (ALONG WITH MY F_ING Rear door...).
