Replaced the seized vacuum advance and then set my timming to 10 degrees advanced, it ran very good. Then I break out the book and it says 5 degrees [+ or - 1] so I reset my timming to 5 degrees, engine run good but not as good. I also read the marks on the balancer can be off, What is your thought on timming a 3.9 with stock ingition?
More advanced will generally give you more power up to a point but you may experience pre-ignition knock using regular gas. I think I have at least one of mine set on 8 degrees.
