Seriously....previous owner.

Wondered why there was intermittent light switch power ran to my center console area. Traced the lead hot wire back to where the previous owner connected it, which was behind the dash gauges. It was simply twisted around one of the other hot wires then taped.

Fortunately, it doesnt look like they tried to rewire anything else.

Good guess about the previous owner installing their first car stereo. It only had power when the lights were on....and the connection was good.

It all got ripped out today and is getting replaced.
