Seeking more Tickford help

In the "wanted" thread, I posted a request for the metal reinforcements for a Tickford. My NOS top didn't come with them. Although I haven't had success finding any yet - I owe one guy a phone call about the "B" pillar supports - it seems that it's the one above the windscreen that is least obtainable. I already have the so-called "header' bar." What I'm after is the piece that slides into the very front of the Tickford top - there's a slit in the fabric on the passenger side - so as to create a point of tension for it to stay taught when you snap the middle and rear in place.

I'm driving down to Boston on Friday and feel that the 1/2" x 4' "temporary" flat-steel piece I have installed will come out when I get up to speed. A Besttop bimini that came with my 90 was also missing that reinforcement and when I got up to about 50 MPH, it popped right out of the header bar with the 1/2" x 4' substitute in place. Had I not slowed down right away, I have no doubt it would have shredded.

Would someone please measure the dimensions of that bar for me? Hopefully the machine shop here in town can bang one out before the weekend.

Thanks!

I drove 500 miles last weekend with the top off. It's not so bad if you're afraid you're going to lose your top at speed. Also can we gets pics of your truck here yet?

It's the kids that object to toplessness at 65mph. So innocent. So na´ve!

I'm at work, so photo options are limited. Here it is on its maiden voyage home last fall:

Yes. All of them - "B" pillar and above the windscreen.

Still looking for these parts... even dimensions would help if anyone cares to take the time.

The stiffener/B-pillar pieces I'm after are flat and don't mount to the tub like the ones I've seen recently for sale.

I made some for the windscreen section. I just bought a piece of vinyl siding and cut it to fit the slot. I've had no issues.

Still looking for help with dimensions... the flat metal piece I inserted (that just fit the slit) isn't sufficient. It's pulled out twice at moderate (45 MPH) speeds.

Anyone happen to have their top off and can measure? I'd appreciate it!!

Hate to suggest you take him away from the sewing machine but Badger repaired so many of those over the years that he might now. Send him an email!

Nothing material to add to the conversation, but I love the fastback look.
