Seat belt chime

Okay, so I have been working through misc little issues on my new to me Defender. Putting things back that had been removed and little fit and finish items. Not that I really want it to work but I'm one of those people who hate when things that should work don't. When I bought the truck the chime was working. It stopped working at around the same time that my fuel pump fuse blew on my maiden voyage(that was fun figuring out a long way from home). Anyone have any input on the mechanism for this chime? Which fuse it is on and where it is actually located would be helpful.

Thanks

Why do you even want the chime working? The first thing I did with my daily driver Toyota was to figure out how to bypass it and how to deactivate the DRL.

Oh, I don't really want it working. I just want to know why it is not working. Once I know that, I have a choice....

Most cars I drove in the 90s had, in the relay box, a chime mechanism that looks like a relay with a vent on top. I don't know about the land rover though

For some time the 'chime' wouldn't sound for the seatbelts on my D90, I didn't do anything about it cause not hearing the thing was kind of nice. If only it was an actual 'chime' sound, I would liken it more to an alarm clock! My driver's side seatbelt eventually got sticky and wouldn't let me fasten it so I unbolted the buckling mechanism from the floor, cleaned out with water and blaster (went ahead and did passenger side too) and now it 'chimes' every time I put the key in, oh and the seatbelt light on the dashboard works every time now too.

Perhaps the light is just a 97 thing.

IDK perhaps, its been so long since Ive driven it I cant remember. THe plungers on the doors have screws that ground to the body, remove them if you dont want the dinger. my dinger makes a different noise when the lights are on vs the door open.

It only worked once in my 97 when my brother left the sunroof open and then it rained all night. It worked for a couple of days, then back to no chime (I guess the ground connection dried up).

They have a chime
Mine has a light on the dash that lights up when you turn the key on so i know that works. but other than that never heard a chime and i'm good with that.

I'd like to know how to get the fuel warning light to work if you figure that one out let me know.
