Looking for local? Do you have a 4 Wheel Parts near you? They carry them.

Looks like they do.

Thanks luis! I ordered an exide agm from home depot so going to give it a try. I intend to replace my aux battery in a few months and will put an odyssey 1500 in there

I'm running Duracell AGM's from Sam's Club in all of my vehicles. I believe they are actually produced by East Penn who have been in business for 60 years. I've had great success with them to date. Prior to this I used Optima but they are overpriced and die to quickly. The real secret to battery longevity is using a battery minder on anything not driven every few days.

I also have been very pleased with my Duracell AGM's from Sam's Club. They are in my Rovers and I am even using them in my RV for the lights etc. when I am off grid. I see no difference in performance after a couple of years of hard use.

My experience with the Optima yellow top was in a marine application. It lasted about 6 yrs and went through 6 months of inactivity every year. Really the opposite of how you should treat a battery. I think the gel cells (round) work better with inactivity, but this was not a scientific study. I have a similar situation with my D, where it will be stored for 2-3 months at a time in the mountains. What would you recommend battery wise? Yes, a Battery Minder is helpful if you have power available.

I have 40 watts of solar on my roof boxes pumping through a dual battery solar charger that is programmed for AGM. That is as good as a battery charger that's always on, and I believe the reason why I've gotten 7 years out of these yellow tops given the number of discharges I've had in camp from that aux battery.

I have a permanent mounted Battery Minder on the frame tied in to my aux battery with the chord running up throught the front bumper. I used to plug it in during the winter alot when I ran my webasto, but ever since i installed the solar, I haven't used it once.

update. I took all of your advice (thanks Luis), cancelled my Exide order and ordered the odyssey 1500 extreme with 4 Wheel Parts in Charlotte. $50 more gets me the best battery possible.

Assuming you are you going with Duals again? If so, like to see photos of the install when you are done, as I was thinking about doing two PC1500's at one point myself. Their Footprint is slightly larger than the Optimas (of which I used two for a mock up long ago - see below)

sure. my oriention is different. I'll take a before and after pic. I don't think you can pull off two odyssey's oriented like that with the compressor. optimas are 10" long, most other AGM's are almost 11".

Which model PC2150 is recommended?
There are S, MJS, T and MJT models.
