SD Rack install instrucs Are incorrect

Trying to install SD Rack that's been in my garage for years. However, the instructions under Tech Articles appears to be for another kind of rack. It says to drill 4 holes in a row just above the driver side taillights for a single bracket. roofrack_4.pdf Problem is that there are two brackets (Upper and lower) with only two holes each. Has someone installed this rack on their 90. How did you know where to drill holes. I may try mounting the pass. side first and make it level and then drill holes for the other side. Any hints, tips, tricks?

Helped me to install one on my SW.
Takes 2 people...better with 3
Completely built the rack.
Mounted front mounts on Roll bar.
Used levels on the basket.
Placed the and marked the ladder between Driver side tail light and below...2 holes on top 2 on bottom.
Drilled and placed bolts. Not tighten

Passenger side ladder mount:
Leveled the basket...
Marked holes
Drilled and Screws...
One last level and tighten all screws.

Freaking beautiful!... 2 of us 2 hours...

Taking our time...doing it right...check...double check!

Sorry for the length...but Javier scored big time!

Well I went ahead and installed the ladder assembly. Did it by myself in about 3 hours. Maybe all Defenders differ a bit but I had trouble getting the Pass side bracket holes to line up with the two rivets on the edge. Never did get it perfect but GOOD NUFF. Made some heavy duty stiffener brackets for the Driver side attachments and used SS Bolts. Now all I have to do is let enough air out of the tires so I can get it out of the garage and then attach the basket. Next on the TO DO list is have taller door installed on garage.

Still don't know why there is an obvious discrepancy with the Rack install instrucs.

I'm glad you got it on okay anyway. It's always good to remember that being hand built sometimes Defenders are just different...

I followed the instructions from ECR which worked out perfectly...
