Sals Shafts

What is the difference between a Sal's shaft and a regular 24 spline shaft?

For stock shafts, the later model 24 spline shafts are wasted down a lot (around the same size as a 10 spline shaft). Salisbury are not wasted much. 24 splines are equivalent in strength to a 30.1 mm shaft.

Something is not right with that picture. Salisburys have the same splines as every other 24 spline shaft and the picture shows a larger spline.
