Saftey Devices Roof Rack reproduction

I am going to talk with a local fab shop about reproducing the factory saftey devices roof rack with ladder. I am currently trying to get the exact specs together. Any information or ideas from you guys would be great. I am only going to do this if I can get it exactly like the safty devices rack.

I also would like to see if anyone else is interested in purchasing one if we get it done right. I am not interested in making any money at this. I just want a nice SD rack for my 90 and I figure the more I can gaurantee the shop, the better price we will get. I plan to have my rack powder coated as I have a friend in the business.

I am located in the Memphis, TN area, a good central location. However I haven't even thought about shipping.

Does anyone know if you can still get the "feet" from Land Rover that mount the front of the basket to the roll cage?

Anyway, I look foward to hearing from everyone as I have always wanted one of these racks for my 90.

I`d be interested, pending price (and pending other shit not breaking on my 90... every time I have a chance at a rack, something major breaks)

Performance Products sells aluminum blocks which could be used in lieu of feet. There is also a place (I forget the name) stateside that sells metal clamps which you connect using allen-head screws. Lastly, they could conceivably be fabbed using the right size tubing.

Just FYI, Safety Devices is working on doing this rack again. We have been talking with them and they say as soon as they get some production items settled they will be offering it again.

Thanks mike, I'm going to do some homework anyway and see what I come up with. Please keep me posted if you hear any production dates or helpful info.

I am also very interested.

I also heard from the guys at expedition exchange that SD might reproduce the Rack, which is weird sounding to me why they would... but hell its good for all of us that want one!

I'd be interested if I could have the basket mount to the gutters of the SW like this one.

We are taking off a rack just like the one on that 90 in a few weeks.
We'll sell it to you. It is even Rhino-Lined for extra rust protection.
