Safety Devices/ ECR New front winch bumper

Thought I would repost this email I just got from Safety Devices.
I did not see it on the ECR web site , but did notice their announcement of their own In House interior trim shop and soft top manufacturing at their shop in Maine

New Development - Land Rover Defender Front Winch Bumper
Safety Devices has developed a new front winch bumper for the Land Rover Defender 90, 110 and 130 models in collaboration with ECR in the USA.
This is a complete front bumper solution, part number RBL248 6SSS, includes the following features:
- Front winch mounting (detailed below)
- Front recovery points
- Brackets for bush cables/ limb risers to be fitted
- 3 x spot light mountings
- Sump guard mounting frame (sump guard available soon)
- Zinc coated and powder coat black finish

The bumper fits directly on to both the end and the side of the chassis rails and also comes with a mounting for a sump guard which is to be completed soon. The bumper has an aperture designed to take the following Warn winch models*: M6000, M8000, XD9000, XD9000i, 9.5XP.
*Please note that some winch models may require trimming of the bodywork around where the winch mounts due to their size and is dependent on the specification of the vehicle.
The bumper is available now exclusively through our network of dealers throughout Europe and the rest of the world. If purchasing in the USA, it is available exclusively through ECR, Maine.

We have a thread going on this in the vendor section.
Once the first container of bumpers arrives we will do some promotion, but things are still in the works.

Yes, it is the old SG bumper. SG went under and we still needed bumpers. We used to make them in house, but we are now having SD do it because they can do it just as good but cheaper and we needed to free up our time for building trucks, not bumpers.

We will weigh the next one we pull off the rack. Not sure of the weight, its never been asked before.

The thread in the vendors loft has a lot more detail. I really don't want to type all that again, so check out that thread about the bumper.

All SD products have been made in Poland for about a decade now.

It will not be at Rockware's price as it has a skid plate built in.

Rockware is a great bumper. If you are looking for one then hit them up.

We need these for in shop projects as that is the look our customers desire. If we sell a few, great. If not, doesn't matter we aren't going to cheapen them up to meet a price point.

For some reason most Defender owners over look the issue of putting a really Stout heavy bumper with bull bars on front (to replace the thin "tin" stock bumper then through on a 130lb winch on top of it and you have thrown off the weight distribution of the Defender and changed the proper springs and shocks needed to support the front end. Not that It would be affordable but I would love to see some one make a good stout aluminum winch bumper.

We cut up one "slightly off" prototype and fixed it and are using on the Safari Car we are building now. So there were no left overs.
