Josh, if you hear anything let me know. I'm thinking about a cage too.

I'm not currently running one but I had one in a 110 of mine a few years ago. It was installed by the guys at Foley's and I really liked it. I had it installed to primarily protect my passengers in the middle row but if I were to do it all again I would also seriously consider the internal six point.

Let me know if you have any specific questions I may be able to help with.

I have the full SD CT style internal/external cage. The A hoop is external and B, C, & D are internal. Let me know if you have any questions I can answer.

Why the six point over the four? My primary goal is the front and middle row.
Does the internal cage eat up a lot of room?
You don't by chance have any pics of the cage do you? I'd be interested in a real work pic

Do you still have a ribbed roof? I have an '83 with the ribbed roof and was wondering how the kit you have fits with that.

Any pics of the cage?

Thanks guys!

Jason how big are you ? Ie if you regularly have the seat all the way back the hoop inside the b pilar will be right up against the seat, as in touching. I'm 6'5 and the inner hoop @ the b pilar's made riding in the truck very uncomfortable for me.

Jason, I might be mistaken but I thought the 4 starts behind the front seats and ends behind the middle row. In a perfect world I would like something over the front as well. I will look for pics to post. There are some here on the board somewhere but it might be easier for me to look back in my archive of pics.

Doug makes a good point. I never noticed the interference but that's because I'm only 5-9".

Doug, about 5'11" and medium build. Good point about the b pillar. I might not have quite the discomfort you do. Is the inner hoop the same or similar to the hoop in the D90?

Clay, in high school I had a CJ5. I had a full internal cage inside. The CJ5 is cramped enough without the cage. It was pretty tight quarters in there, but my dad built the cage because he knew I it was a lot safer than just a fiberglass top.

The internal 4 point is a nice, pretty cheap and easy to install set up. As others have mentioned there are lots of other types (and brands) but for a simple solution the internal 4 point works well.

Doug is correct though, if you have seat rails or are tall, your shoulder will likely contact the interior hoop when you run the seat back. This is the same internal hoop as a NAS 110, so if you want to see what it is like you could sit in a NAS 110.

Isn't there another issue with the shoulder mount essentially being right at your ear without any sort of padding or other type of protection? Perhaps I'm thinking about those ex MOD trucks.

The SD won't work with external ribbed roof.
You need to go to Performance and protection for external ribbed roof roll cage.

Depends upon the SD cage you are talking about. The external ribs work with my SD CT style cage.

Thanks. So no SD model available without retrofitting to a newer style roof?

Sorry to hijack the thread

Some SD cages do fit with the external ribs.

A few pics from a couple years ago @ post 16 or so http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...highlight=cage I can take more if interested.

MUDSUX had good pictures of this cage in his build thread, but I'm not sure it's still on the site.
