Thanks for the info and pics. I have too been trying to decide on the external/internal ct style. The pictures help with the interior space and head room.

A few pics for a couple years ago @ post 16 or so http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...highlight=cage I can take more if interested.
That looks great. I'm torn between internal and external. While I like the look of internal, I worry like Doug aid about room. Does the internal feel lil sit eats up some room?

Personally I think the internal cage looks great, gives it that motorsports look.

Price may be an issue for some. About 7k I'd estimate for a full external cage. It's bad ass but I'm not loving the look of it

It is but my build thread is hidden. Here are some pics. Paul is correct, the cage will work on a ribbed roof. I just had to grind a little off the metal tab on top, like 1/4". And a Brownchurch roof rack fits fine over the external bars. Here are some pics:

Thanks of the pics. Was it the external or internal that you had to shave down? Who made your cage? In terms of the internal does it feel like it takes up significant space from the openness of the cab?

Original Trident Green with limestone top. I repainted the truck in PPG Concept.

External, the front bar on top. The foot plate that is bolted through the roof to the B hoop on the inside. I think Paul had the same problem. Safety Devices welded a left foot plate onto the right side bar

Not to speak for Forrest, but on my SD 183 cage, I trimmed a bit (maybe .25") off the edge of the foot plate on the external part of the cage where it bolts through the roof. No biggie.

Anyone know if they make the 4 point internal cage WITH the A-pillar loop like Paul and Forrest's?

I think Lucky8 is a distributor for SD. They procured a P&P for a guy I sold a 110. Eventually it went to Don but was a 3 door 110 config. Overall I think Don likes the way it all came together once he installed it.

Thanks, John. Looks like the L148 is what I was thinking about.

ECR is the only authorized SD dealer in North America, but any shop that buys from Brit-Part can source the majority of SD parts/cages that way, so shop to timeframe and price.

I do not check PMs. Call or email if you need something.

ECR is not a parts source. We are not in the mail order business.

I grind off about 1/4 inch to clear the rib on the roof. It's on top and cannot be seen. It was easier than sending it back.
