Safari Window

Anyone ever heard of a d-90 with a front safari window?

I would love one but think that the mod would be REALLY expensive.

Thoughts?

Mike

What do you mean by Safari window? Door top windows or the windshield? Like a fold down windshield? You can buy hinges that allow the windshield to fold down but the cage gets in the way. I pulled my windshield off and drove without it for a week, let's just say I'll only pull it off if I am going to be on the trail for extended periods, the highway ride kinda stinks.

Mike:

I did mean a windshield and since it did seam like the bar would get in the way of a fold DOWN windshield I thought that maybe one that sort of pops up would work. I have seen windshields that are broke into two panels and pop up and lock.

Thanks for the response,

Mike S.

The NAS trucks can not drop the windscreen due to the cage.. There are hinges for them though if you removed the cage...

Sounds intresting. With the top off the 90 there are only 3 bolts on each side of the sindsheild that hold it on, and one person can take it on and off.

THATS interesting. I guess I have never inspected it.
Maybe that is the cheaper solution is just take it on and off as needed.

thanks

Another option that is again limited by the cage, the Series trucks had a 'tropical' top that had additional vents above the windshied, similar to the ones below it.

Don't know if it's compatible with Defenders or not.
