Mike, you know where I'm coming from - don't call them again. Find another vendor for you needs. Let me know if I can help.

On a side note, still looking forward to running some trails and camping around Ouray. With the snow it may be August. Mark

They screwed me out of $900 dollars. I've called them hundreds of times and they won't pick up. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of California and still nothing. Now I need to take the complaint to a federal level. Don't use them for anything!

Wheeled with those guys in April and IIRC he mentioned that he was selling the company and would be pursuing other interests? Maybe there in the middle of that transaction.

Hey Mike, I just removed my SG 2" receiver, bumperettes and skid plate and went back to stock on my LE. I'm still debating whether or not I want to put all of it on my ST. If you have a fab shop, I don't mind sending you the parts to have replicated...

Just FYI SG is just Greg now. I don't think they have had a welder for a while now (either he quit or Greg fired him, I don't know) and I talked to Mary today and she no longer works for SG... She said Greg is still supposedly working on stuff or whatever.

Sounds like the end of what might have been a good thing.

If SG is going to be sold (like Baldewin heard) I guess there is the possibility of the company being rehashed under a new owner. It would be cool if SG was sold to someone who offered the same products but with better customer service...

If they were big in the advertising of new ownership (which word of mouth would do) and offered the same products with acceptable customer service, it wouldn't be very difficult to revive Safari Gard IMO.

I ordered the rear tire carrier. They F*cked me out of the brake light bracket and never sent the door handle extension. I have a new plan for a brake light in the wheel cap of the spare which should be cool and I can roll my own handle extension. Thankfully I got the main chassis. It is a nice product.

That brand has got to be worth something and the reputation could be quickly rehabilitated by a well-respected sole practioner in the community (several of whom quickly come to mind.) The key questions are: can you make money selling that kind of stuff given the cost of materials, labor, distribution, marketing, etc. and is welding and fabrication what you want to spend your time on?

Steve, quit calling, nothing will happen with that. I called and filed a complain with the Better Business Bureau of California and now I am goign to call the Federal level Business Bureau this week and see if I can get anything from them.

I saw we wheel out there and knock on their door!

They were never any good even back in 1997 when I bought mine new. Tons of complaints then, just like now. Poor customer service, excuses and delays.
A local guy bought a set of SG sliders, they took almost a year to arrive, then he bent them just going over a fallen tree!
Unreturned calls, no followup etc
Amazing how people still fall for them and other actually stick up for them.
Its not likely to revive a co that was never any good to begin with.
I personally had questions about products that they never returned my calls, emails, etc for YEARS.
I swore Id never give them any business back in 1997. 11 years later, same old complaints, no different.
