Running rich and now not running

Well the reason I am writing you is She is not again. Last night she was running rich and spuddering but this morning she would not start for the first time ever. you can smell the gas coming from the tail pipe. After a few minutes of coaxing her she started up but sound like ass and spudder feeling like she would stall without me giving her gas. Help me please. Where do I start. I checked the hose air intake and there seem to be nothing wrong. Reseat the spark plugs and nothing as well. Any suggestions? Thanks

I second Doug Crowther. It sounds like you're misfiring. I would check the easiest stuff first: Cap, rotor, measure coil voltage & resistance. Then move on to the ignition amplifier module.
