running rich

Hey everyone. First I checked the previous posts but I think my situation may be different because of the mods I have done:
4.6 with hot cam, 4.6 heads with oversized valves running 145-150 psi all around valve job about 5k ago
Exhaust has cats removed and flowmaster high flow
ignition is a gm hei unit with no resistance (no ballast resister)- wire running to efi trigger
I currently run a tvr ecu from a 4.6 (euro)but have had the same problems with the 3.9 ecu

Here's the deal. I get black smoke out of the pipe. I have to give the vehicle gas to start- it will not start without pushing the accelerator. It dies when It's cold If I don't hold my foot on the peddle. When I start it It really pushes out some smoke- black that is. It idles rough- until it's warm- more than cam related. It seems to run right on the top end but I'll still get some black smoke if I'm gunning it. My clothes stink and I'm getting terrible gas mileage- people can smell the truck coming. Also no check engine light. No thread seems to offer a conclusion. I'm thinking the coolant temp sensor- as it does't throw a light (supposidly).
Help a brotha out

FWIW, my stock engine did the same when the coolant sensor failed. This is a cheap and easy way to rule something out. Having replaced that, the coil, and the 02 sensors over the past year, the rich exhaust and hard starting issues have gone away. From my understanding, the temp sensor will create a wider variance in fuel than will failed O2 sensors.

"Uhh...I think they all leak like that."
