Running motor out of vehicle

If I were going to start and run a 300 outside of a vehicle, what would I need to hook up assuming I had just a battery and a bucket of fuel?

Depends, how long are we talking about? You can run it without coolant for a few seconds just to make sure everything works. You will need to do something with the oil cooler lines. Anything longer and you may want to attach the rad and hoses.

I was going to say the same thing... I mean just to see if it fires you don't necessarily need coolant. But do ensure the engine is secured as the vibration can let it run away
