Running Costs D90 (NAS)

I did a couple different searches, didn't see anything, so, question is what are typical annual maintenance or running costs for a NAS D90? Two different scenarios: 1) all maintenance up to date; 2) no knowledge of maintenance. Assume starting with a rig with 65-70K miles.

Thanks

When I purchased my D90 (w/60k miles on it), I spent ~$1,500 the first year to get everything up to par. This included:

Replacing the belts
Adjusting the timing
Replacing the hoses
Replacing the oil cooler lines
Replacing all fluids (engine oil, diffs, transfer case, transmission, coolant, brake fluid, etc.)

Although the prior owner kept good records and nothing was past due, my logic was to just get ahead of the game and do preventative maintenance so that I'd have peace of mind. The 2nd year, I changed the engine oil, transmission, differential and transfer case fluids for ~$200. I hope this helps.

Plan to do the head gaskets on the 3.9l V8 at some point in the near future.

You GT3RS guys run in small circles admired from afar by many. Do you know Ryan McQ__ from Deale, MD?

Joe, I've owned my current 90 for 12 years and I've put well over 120k on it as my daily driver, plus I have wheeled it on pretty much every level trail in the mid-atlantic. Prior to this one I owned two other 90's for 4 years each before selling and "upgrading". Outside of fluids and filters, brake pads and rotors and tires I have replaced oil cooler lines and AT lines. Recently I've replace a couple UJ's. That's it.

Been using a 97 NAS 90 as a daily driver for nearly 12 years and have put about 60,000 since we bought it (yes we don't have far to drive - it now has 140,000 total miles) Repairs/ Maintenance to date (most done myself):

Fuel pump and some lines (approx. $450)
Ignition switch (approx. $40)
Ignition wires (approx. $100)
Transmission service (approx. $300 - did not do myself)
Some hoses (approx. $80)

Also did the brake pads and at the same time did all the bearings and swivel ball seals - (approx. $1200) This ended up costing more than anticipated due to using non original pads that squealed like crazy, so I swapped them out for Land Rover pads.

Outside of that regular oil changes, filter changes....

The one thing I do seem to go through at an unusual rate is bulbs in the taillights... I think I must have an intermittent short.

The one thing I know is that a Defender that is driven regularly will cost less than one that sits for extended periods of time... they don't like being stored.
