There have been several D90's with a 350 conversion. One is in the custom mod section.

Correction: it is in the Misc Pictures section.

would a simple chevy (engine) to bop(trans) adapter plate and some fly wheel work surfice. we are talking a mild 350 maybe throttle body at most non vortec. seems to me a chevy 350 can produce way more then a rover v8 but you can just use a mild 350 . as for the heavier engine it seems stronger springs are in order. i poured hours of reading to decide my engine conversion not sure i have the energy for a big plan on this one.

Everything has to be reengineered. It's not just an engine swap. It's an engine, transmission, cooling, exhaust suspension swap. If you do go ahead, I would recommend aluminum heads to reduce weight. Finding a suitable adapter plate will be a challenge, and the engine mounts have to be changed too.

he has a 4.2 and doesnt like the higher rebuild costs of that engine. its more expensive then a 3.9 or even a 4.6 just kinda pissed him off. i think my rebuild is influencing his reasoning right now. might be a passing fade.

I did a 302 in a RRC at a friends request. I was never very happy with how it turned out. The power was nice, but it's a lot of weight in the front and never cooled well.

I've seen a Chevy Vortex V-6 conversion (it was in a Series IIA 109) that I thought was well done and would work in a RRC.
