RRC brake pedal switch won't fit?

Having a hard time getting my new LR brand brake light switch (for ABS) to fit the square-ish hole on the brake pedal arm of my '91 Classic (with ABS). Already tore up the generic one that I tried from O'Reillys, is there a trick to this? I tried some silicone lube around the case...& tried to push fairly hard with needle nose pliers that turn 90 degrees at the tip (which makes for a fairly nice fit for gripping this part)...

Nothing Googled up re this issue, is there a trick to this that has been kept a secret from the internets? File down the tabs on the case, maybe? Something? Anything??? - Thanks for looking!

Odd...should fit right in. Have you tried any other brands?

Thanks, Roverman! - sliding out the red sleeve enables the retaining clips to bend inward enough to clear the opening, apparently. Part is in & brake lights now working. So much for trying to wing it...
