roof replacement tips, advice

My new roof finally arrived and I am hoping to get all the seals I need by next weekend so I can do the swap. Are there any tricks or little things I should know ahead of time to make this easier? It is a new style 110 roof with sunroof and alpine windows.

Thanks, Jason

When we put the roof on JimC's 110 the rubber seal was a little tricky ... make sure everything is warm ... it will help manipulate the seal. If you end up with folded sections a metal scraper used gently can be used to tease the seal into place.

A small amount of washing up liquid in water may also help manipulate the seal.

Soapy water / KY jelly, etc. is is basically a must. Yes, good idea to remove trim panels - only takes 5 more minutes to do so.

Do most all the bolts hand tight, if not all of them. Then tighten everything up.

Get new fasteners. Nylocks are nice.

Has anyone put in the alpine windows themselves or is this something I should have a glass guy do?

Are the holes there already?

If so it is pretty easy. If you have to cut the holes if you had a template that would certainly make it easier.

the holes are all cut. I am just worried about them leaking if I screw something up

They are easy, unlike the windscreen. Two piece seal makes it easy.
