Roof rack carriers

I have a full Safari rack on the D-90 and currently run a mishmach of totes and bags on it when out on the road. Does anyone have advice on soft carriers that fit well inside the rack (height not an issue)? I have two 12 cft bags I run side by side with one bag left a bit empty then roll it under the second and tie it down with a bungy. Does anyone even make a 4' wide car top carrier?

Also, the size of the LR rack tubing is wider then all the tie down I can find - own. Anyone got a lead on those too?

This is not vital but just looking to make it a bit cleaner and easier to pack the base camp camping gear.

If you're not concerned about height, there's a military surplus heavy-duty waterproof plastic box that fits perfectly in the safari roof rack. It's hinged and watertight. I'll have to check when I'm home, exactly what it was for, but it was some kind of missile-launching system I believe. Here are couple pictures. I got mine at C&H Sales in Pasadena, probably for about $75 each. I'd sometimes run with two of them, plus a row of jerry cans.

That looks like the case for the rocket in Syriana... the one george clooney let get away. If that helps identify it.

I love it. Height is not an issue - and I can keep stuff in them when at home. The mrs will love the extra space in the garage. Let me know any specifics you can find. Price is good too.

Just be careful of parking garages. One of my two boxes was decapitated when I drove to work and forgot it was still up there.

I found the one I still have, buried under about three feet of furniture in my shed. Once I've dug it out, I'll look for identifying labels and Google a source.

I use the Kanga Pouch on the 110. It fits perfect into the basket and carries all our camping gear. I've had mine for about 12 years now and it's still in good shape.

I bought some cases from these guys: www.surplus-cases.com

Be sure to check on shipping costs - one of them cost more to ship than it did to buy...

Thanks guys - will hunt tnhis weekend .
I must say, I have had a blast looking on the internet yesterday and found the government liquidation site. Lots of cases - $200-300 for 20 to 60 cases but shipping from the Army depot to anywhere was more than a couple of hundred. Hawaii had 11 cases for $150 but $650 to ship.
I was about to set up a buying group but my wife would have a shit fit if 7 pallets of containers showed up one day...

What about S hooks for the rack tubing? Anyone found a stock supplier as everything I find is a 1/4 inch to small diameter size.
