Roof Rack

Anyone know any good roof racks for a 110 with a mesh bottom kinda want something I can strap things down to, don't want one that have those gaps between them like the H.D.BROWNCHURCH, G4, and Explorer ones.

Ya I have seen those, looking for something with sides though like the G4 but with some mesh or something on the bottom, and not that plywood they sell for it. The ARB ones would be awesome but they don't make them for defenders

No, looking for something with railing on all four sides, like the G4 but with something like expanded metal or welded wire panels welded on the base, I know I can weld something on myself but if I'm spending this much money on something I shouldn't have to.

Frontrunner does offer rails with their racks I'm pretty sure.

ARB makes racks for the Defender. They are actually my favorite aftermarket rack because of the way they stand and look even unloaded.

Have you considered Patriot racks? http://www.patriotroofracks.co.uk/

The overlapping style, well, overlaps about an inch on the 4' side as opposed to just butting up to the next piece.

It has held up well for me. The super duty zip ties have started to give up though. I seem to break one off every time I get up on my rack

I used the overlapping just makes for a stronger meeting of the panels. I'm 250 lbs and wanted to be able to walk/climb around on it when fastening things down.
As far as uv stability goes I know guys that have this stuff on their trucks for a decade or more and these are trucks that never get garaged. Most just attach the floor with a high quality zip tie so you aren't drilling any holes in your rack.

Farmtek is an interesting company to deal with. Hearken's back to an earlier time when farmers etc word was an honor code. Not sure if they are still as trusting but they sent me the product and said just "send us a check when you get it if it is what you needed, otherwise just send it back".

Who?

Ok so maybe I'm making up for all the years I couldn't get good chile out east. And, the sun out here kills anything that it can. The zip ties were all fine in NC but after just a few months here they would snap in half if you looked at them.

Maybe try some nice hose clamps?

Also, Oprah has good things to say about Weight-Watchers lately if that helps...
