Roll Cage Supports

Need some measurements from a 97 90. First what is the diameter of the hole in the rear of the tub that the cantrail passes through. Second I need to know how far from the rear and the side of the body is that hole. I'm installing a complete cage in a non-NAS body and well don't have any of that info.

Thanks

I may have used the cantrail term in error. I'm talking about the support that bolts to the cross member then runs up through the tub and bolts to the C pillar.

Thanks
Chris

For a soft-top or station wagon? I could help you with a soft top.

Scott,

Here are some photos of what I'm talking about. The one shows the support that ties to the cross member and each end of said support. The other photo is that of the corner of the tub. It looks like the hole needs to be about 2 7/8 or so in diameter to allow the support to pass through it.

Thanks
Chris

Randy,

I believe yours to be a 94/95 type support. The 97's are the one piece type design.

Chris,

The hole is approx 3", more like 2 15/16"
The far edge of the hole is 3.5" from the rear
and 4.25" from the side.

If you call it a 3" hole the center would be 2" from the rear and 2.75" from the side.

Both sides of the D90 are the same.

Chris,

Here are some pictures... My speaker boxes did not want to come out without fight... Two of the pictures are of the connections on underneath the truck.

Hope this helps,

Scott

Curious what your plans are for the tail lights?

Jason,

Who needs tail lights the truck barely goes 55. I'll always be the one following. But on a serious note the inside rubber housing will push to the side. Not idle but looks like it will work and I would assume the same for the lower amber light as well. If need be I will redo the lights since I would rather have the full roll cage. My current thoughts/plans call for the brake lights to relocate and I would utilize that location for a connection point for a roof rack similar to the factory/safety device mounting.

Gentlemen,

On the attached photo what is the material that goes between the roll cage support and the tub? Picture is taken from underneath the truck looking up.

Thanks
Chris

There is a rubber gasket/grommet that stretches to go around the top bracket, and then slides down the tube to fill the hole. I have no idea what the part number is, but McMaster may be able to supply something that works.

Chris, my euro light setup fit when I installed the cage. You should have no problem. I think Mcmaster Carr has big grommits like that. IF not the part # is ALR7812.

Scott, I love the tons of mud behind the speakers... Is that MAR mud.. I keep finding that stuff everywhere.
