Roll cage questions

Met another D-90 owner last week, very nice guy. His '94 ST had a slightly different rollcage than mine however. Along the inside of the tub, atop the wheelwell (were the tuffy boxes go) he had a bar that tied the rear hoop(right next to the rear speakers) to the b-pillar hoop(right were the front shoulder belt reel is). He said it was there as long as he's had it. I don't have this bar, nor is there any indication that I should...anyone have any input?

No input to give, but am curious on that. Mine was a '94 ST originally, and was converted to a SW. I have the rear corner pieces of the back cage, but they don't connect to anything, the pieces that connect the front cage to the rear corners has been removed. I wonder if that would fit in a SW top, and if so.... I'd like to add it.

NO! search yourself Yousef! LOL just kidding. 97s and maybe some 95s came with that extra long brace while 94's had the short one. The only time I have seen it as a problem is when adding a fiberglass top from a 94 to a 97 but then mine had the cutouts for both.

Mike, what the hell are you talkin' about? lol. I think Michael is talking about the bar that goes from the pillar where the seatbelt reel is to the rear pillar behind the speakers. This bar runs paralel and gust below the body capping on the inside of the truck. For some reason, some trucks have it and some dont. I think only the early 94's have it. NAS 110's have it too.

I am pretty sure I have the bars you are talking about. Im not sure. I drank so much this weekend not sure if I can remember where my truck is let alone the stuff inside it. I believe my truck is an "earlier" one, number 569 I think. Not sure if that constitutes being "early" or not. I like the extra bar. Although the guy who owned it prior to me at the inside Rhino lined. I am going to remove all the tub bars and have them powder coated black. Will look much better then rhino lined red.

Micheal are you talking about the guy at Rausch Creek? If so that was me. Mike he's talking about the bars that I have on the inside of the rear tub that run where your tool boxes are.

I installed a full exterior roll bar on my SW, made by Safety Devices. The new bar had a mounting bracket that would allow you to mount a bar along the wheel well from the front of the truck to the rear. It sound very similar to what is being described in the thread. Anyway to the point... the bar is for mount in seat belts for the jump seats, at least in my truck it is. Since I got rid of my jump seats I didn't install the bar.

OK for all the search haters, I found the thread here!

http://www.defendersource.com/discus...s/46/1420.html

A quote from that thread

The guy who said to search is the one who new what they were all along, I have attached a pic from that thread. And to be honest I thought that he was talking about the diagnal brace going from the behind the front seat to the top of the tub.

Thats the beast that I have half of, only the rear half. I'd honestly like to re-complete the whole setup to use for some type of cargo tiedown setup. Where do they bolt to at the front?
