roll cage Defender 90

can the padding be replaced on the roll cage or somehow removed and put new padding on it? thanks for your help.

I assume you mean on a soft top cage. You can't remove it. There are ways to fix cracks, but if overall you have dry rot you are screwed. Rovers north has a set of pads that cover the entire thing so it will look better.

Post pics of the cage if you want the best advice.

Padding Picture

here is a shot, it's torn on the bottom. I actually ordered from rovers north the padding but thought I could remove all of the old first for a neater install.

Be happy that is a minor repair in the grand scheme of things. If you do a search you will find info on what people use to make repairs. There is a roof flashing product you can use to fill that hole. Just need to do it slowly and build it up. A sponge works for texturing the final coat.

I did exactly that to fix a much larger gap in my cage (on the cantrail)

I don't think the RN kit covers the feet where you are experiencing cracking.

A nice glue and some gentle pressure will help.
