Rewiring Auxiliary Lights

My truck has two Hella 3000s on the roof. I finally found time to trace how they were wired by a previous owner. It made no sense and didn't work. So far I have done so far:

- Replaced the relay, wired and grounded it correctly. Battery power is good.

- Installed a factory switch in the wiper motor cover

Now I just need to run power to the switch. What is the best thing to tap? I've heard some say the highbeam circuit. What is the best way specifically? Do I have to pull the fuse assembly to get to the circuit? Can I tap in at the highbeam light in the warning light panel?

I would not tie them into the high beam. I would run from a switched power source.

I would run a wire down to the batteries.
